Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI) recently extended its long-term purchase agreement with Rolls-Royce through 2029.
Under the agreement, ATI will supply rotating disc quality nickel alloys for Rolls-Royce’s Trent engines. ATI will produce a range of products for Rolls-Royce’s jet engines as well as spare parts for in-service engines.
Rolls-Royce extended the contract because of ATI’s track record of cost, quality and delivery performance, allowing the companies to enjoy engine production and service volume growth, Warrick Matthews, Rolls-Royce’s executive vice president of Procurement and Installations Supply Chain, said.
Rolls-Royce’s supply chain requires on-time delivery of high-quality materials, he said.
“We are pleased to extend our long-standing relationship with Rolls-Royce, partnering with them on the development of next generation jet engines and supporting their legacy jet engine supply chain,” Robert S. Wetherbee, ATI president and CEO, said. “This agreement reliably secures Rolls-Royce’s supply of critical materials for their innovative engine portfolio for the next ten years.”
ATI manufactures technically advanced specialty materials and complex components, including 3D-printed aerospace products and next-generation jet engine forgings. It specializes in differentiated specialty alloys and forgings that require precision machining capabilities.
ATI’s customers include the aerospace and defense, automotive, electrical energy, oil and gas, and medical industries.
Revenue in 2018 totaled $4 billion.
