Triumph to manufacture new order of Gulfstream G500, Gulfstream G600 fuselage frames

Berwyn, Pennylsvania-based Triumph Group, Inc. announced Tuesday that its Aerospace Structures business has been chosen by Gulfstream to manufacture a new order of fuselage frames for the Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 aircraft.

Under the agreement, Triumph Fabrications in Hot Springs, Arkansas will produce the fuselage frames with stretch formed extrusions that will then be machined into final configurations. The agreement runs through 2020.

“As original equipment manufacturers, like Gulfstream, transition away from hydroformed frames in favor of the newer stretch form technology, Triumph’s expertise with this technique provides a viable option for aircraft manufacturers,” the Triumph Group said in a news release. “Recognizing the need to stay current with industry manufacturing trends and processes, Triumph continues to invest in tooling and equipment necessary to ensure they can meet their customers’ unique design requirements.”

The contract continues Triumph’s relationship with Gulfstream and expands the level of support Triumph Aerospace Structures provides the business jet manufacturer.

“We are very pleased to be continuing our collaboration with Gulfstream in support of their highly successful G500 and G600 aircraft,” Pete Wick, executive vice president for Triumph Aerospace Structures, said. “Our manufacturing expertise and versatility have proven to be a key driver in our continued relationship with Gulfstream.”
