Carvana expands its delivery service in Scranton

Used cars e-commerce platform Carvana recently began offering as-soon-as-next-day vehicle delivery in Scranton, which brings the company’s market count in Pennsylvania to seven.

“As we’ve continued to grow our presence in Pennsylvania, we’re looking forward to now providing as-soon-as-next-day vehicle delivery to Scranton,” Ernie Garcia, Carvana founder and CEO, said. “We’re confident area customers will embrace the new way to buy a car.”

Customers can use Carvana.com to shop more than 10,000 vehicles or sell their current vehicle and can also finance their purchase and schedule as-soon-as-next-day delivery.

Customers prefer to shop online because it saves time and money and they don’t need to worry about the haggling at the dealership, Amy O’Hara, Carvana’s director of communications, said.

Carvana was founded in 2012 and launched as-soon-as-next-day vehicle delivery in Pennsylvania in 2016.

Last month, Carvana completed construction of its car vending machine in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia.

The vending machine is a nine-story, glass garage open six days a week during normal business hours. Customers purchase a vehicle on Carvana.com and select pick up instead of home delivery. They are given an oversized coin to activate the vending process.

The vehicle is moved to the delivery bay, where customers examine the vehicle and sign documents.
