Rep. Solomon applauds colleagues for passage of business bill

State Rep. Jared Solomon (D-Philadelphia) recently praised his colleagues for passing legislation that would strengthen the Pennsylvania Business One-Stop Shop initiative.

The bill will turn the initiative, which was created by the governor’s office as an online tool to guide small businesses and entrepreneurs through all stages of development, into state law. Its goal is to provide complete, customer-focused service backed by firsthand knowledge and experience.

“The Department of Community and Economic Development continues to welcome new and current entrepreneurs to the initiative’s website,” Solomon said. “Since it launched in February, more than 71,000 people have visited the website, and nearly 5,000 Pennsylvanians have contacted the department either by phone or email. It is great to see Pennsylvanians invigorated to become business owners or to have current entrepreneurs seek the resources they need to thrive.”

The Business One-Stop Shop website provides visitors with information on naming a business, taxes, registering a business, permits, worker’s compensation, unemployment compensation, and the benefits of doing business in the state. It also features a small-business spotlight, forms, business guides, and informative articles.

Website visitors with questions can contact business experts via email or telephone.

The bill now moves to Gov. Tom Wolf for his signature.
