Erie company receives grant to help market its College and Career Readiness platform

An Erie-based business recently received a $125,000 grant to help it market its technology-based College and Career Readiness platform for the K-12 market.

School guidance counselors can use the program to assist students in making educational and career choices. The platform is a product of Virtual Readiness Advisors LLC, doing business as CAPS.

“I’m thrilled about this grant, which will enable CAPS to move forward with this innovative platform,” state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie) said. “Giving guidance counselors the tools they need at their fingertips – including the curriculum, syllabus and guidance tools all in one place – will do away with outdated paper or spreadsheet-based programs and make it easier to help students navigate the many education and career choices they face.”

The Ben Franklin Technology PArtners program, an initiative of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, provided the grant.
