Motorcycle dealer holds ribbon cutting in Warrendale

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for motorcycle dealer Pitt Cycles, owned by Mike Cartney and Bill Obaker, recently held its ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday in Warrendale, Marshall Township.

“It is my pleasure to celebrate the opening of Pitt Cycles and welcome another small business to our area,” Rep. Keith Rothfus (R- Beaver County) said. “I also want to thank the partners and other small business community members here today who helped make this all possible.
It is encouraging to see federal, state, and local government, as well as the private sector working together to help small business again, thrive in our community.”

Cartney and Obaker began their journey for the dealership in 2016 with the goal of creating an upscale motorcycle dealership that would not only sell to the motorcycle community but also serve as a destination for motorcyclists traveling through the area. The dealership will sell Indian Motorcycles and KTM Sportcycles.

“This is a day we envisioned for a long time and are thrilled to have so many partners and friends here to help us celebrate,” Obaker said. “We look forward to providing the highest-quality buying experience for motorcycle enthusiasts for years to come.”

Other local officials at the ceremony included Sara Bresnahan Kennedy, district director for Rep. Mike Turzai’s (R-Warrendale) office; Chuck Leyh, president and CEO of Enterprise Bank; Rebecca MacBlane, executive director of the Regional Development Funding Corp; and Winthrop Watson, president and CEO of Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh.

FHLBank Pittsburgh hosted the ceremony. The bank provided a portion of Pitt Cycles financing as part of its Banking On Business program.
