Chemical Concepts, a Huntingdon Valley, Pa.-based adhesives, specialty chemicals company, said it had acquired Texas-based Perigee Direct, a supplier of specialty consumables for science and industrial customers.
The acquisition significantly expands its product portfolio, e-commerce capabilities and distribution footprint, Chemical Concepts said. The acquisition also strengthens the company’s leadership in adhesives and specialty chemicals while adding new product categories like plastic welding equipment, industrial lubricants and filling systems, officials said.
“Perigee Direct is laser-focused on delivering an excellent user experience,” Andrew Morris, CEO of Chemical Concepts, said. “They possess exactly the capabilities and market presence we were seeking: deep expertise in specialty applications, strong customer relationships, and a Texas location that fills a critical gap in our distribution network.”
Company officials said Perigee’s nearly 20 years in precision adhesives, resins, lab consumables and specialty chemicals will add to Chemical Concepts’ expertise and enhance its ability to serve both B2B and B2C customers.
Perigee’s Texas operations will operate as a strategic distribution hub, reducing delivery times for customers, while increasing capacity for both companies’ product lines.
“Chemical Concepts is deeply committed to a problem-solving approach, innovation and novelty in products and services offered, and long-term value for their customers and partners. This aligns perfectly with our mission,” Matt Jackson, CEO of Perigee Direct. “They offer exactly the scale and resource diversity that Perigee Direct needs to take our mission of transforming the industrial supply customer experience to the next level.”
