Gov. Tom Wolf recently announced the latest round of Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) allocations, which aim to support community redevelopment, workforce development, and business and non-profit expansion projects across the state.
“These projects reinforce my administration’s commitment to helping more Pennsylvania companies expand and grow, more Pennsylvania communities transform and revitalize, and more Pennsylvanians having the necessary skills and opportunities for higher-paying jobs,” Wolf said.
The latest round of allocations includes projects in Allegheny County, Blair County, Dauphin County, Lackawanna County, Northampton County, Philadelphia County, Warren County, Wayne County, and York County.
The York Plan 2.0 Innovation District will receive the largest amount, $6 million. The project partners are in the design stage of building a 240,000 square foot, five-phase structure. RACP funding would allow the project to begin phases one and two, enable pre-leasing to progress to future phases and allow EB-5 investments to be secured. Once complete, the site will host American-made robotic device development and assembly, prototype design workshops and office and lab space.
Other allocations include $2.5 million for the Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School Campus, $2.5 million for the Warren Riverfront Revitalization project, $2.5 million for the redevelopment of the Gables Building in downtown Altoona, $2 million for the Philabundance Community Kitchen 2.0 project, $2 million for the Mill at Easton Phase II, $2 million for a new facility for the Scranton Counseling Center, and $2 million for the Paxton Creek Re-Channelization project.
