The Bedford County Development Association (BCDA) recently appointed Jennifer Marsh as its next president and CEO, effective July 1
“We are thrilled to welcome Jen Marsh as the next leader of BCDA,” Jeff Crist, BCDA Board of Directors chairman, said. “Her strategic approach, commitment to community growth, and demonstrated success in advancing economic opportunities make her the right person to guide the organization forward.”
Marsh has experience in economic development, organizational leadership, and fostering public-private partnerships. In her new role, she will lead the county’s economic development initiatives.
She comes to BCDA from Meritus Health in Maryland where she served as director of corporate communications and was responsible for managing a $1.2 million department budget and strategic, operational, and fiscal management.
Marsh succeeds Bette Slayton who is retiring after 35 years at BCDA.
“I’m honored to take on this role and to build upon the legacy that Bette Slayton and the BCDA team have established,” Marsh said. “Bedford County has a strong economic foundation and tremendous potential. I look forward to working with local leaders, businesses, and residents to help the region grow and thrive.”
BCDA’s core mission is to support existing businesses, attract new investment, strengthen the work force, and enhance quality of life in the county.
