Conshohocken-based Quaker Houghton, an industrial process fluids company, recently opened a manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, China.

The facility allows the company to expand its local production capabilities to support increased customer demand in the Asia-Pacific region and adds new production capabilities for die casting and grease product lines. It also supports key industries such as aluminum, automotive, beverage can, mining, steel, and wind power.

“The opening of our Zhangjiagang facility is an important step in Quaker Houghton’s long-term growth strategy in Asia,” Albert Ma, Quaker Houghton senior vice president, regional commercial lead – Asia Pacific, said. “By adding new manufacturing capabilities locally in China, we are enhancing our ability to serve our customers with the innovative, high-quality solutions they know and expect from Quaker Houghton.”

The company also opened an expanded laboratory in Shanghai earlier this month. Expansion added testing and development capabilities for the company’s grease business and its technology platform that measures, controls and optimizes fluid and process performance.

The investments “strengthen our ability to better serve our customers in the region by enabling local production of a larger portion of our diverse product portfolio and accelerating innovation to meet increasing demand across the region,” Joseph Berquist, CEO and president, said.
