Conshohocken-based Cencora, a pharmaceutical solutions company, recently announced James Cleary, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will retire on June 30.

Cleary joined the company in February following the acquisition of MWI Veterinary Supply where he had been CEO for more than a decade. He became Cencora chief financial officer in 2018. After retirement, he will serve in an advisory role until the end of the year.

“On behalf of the Board and Enterprise Leadership Team, I want to thank Jim for his years of pragmatic leadership, strategic insight and consistent financial stewardship,” Robert Mauch, Cencora president and CEO, said. “Jim retires with an outstanding track record of driving growth and shareholder value during his over 20 years as a public company executive.”

Cencora hired an executive search firm to identify and evaluate potential successors from internal and external candidates. Cleary will assist in the search.

“Working with this team has been the highlight of my career,” Cleary said. “I’m very proud of what we accomplished together at Cencora, enhancing value for all stakeholders. As I step into my next chapter, I do so with great confidence in Cencora and the talented people across the company.”

Cencora employs more than 51,000 people worldwide. It partners with pharmaceutical innovators to facilitate and optimize market access to therapies.
