Horsham-based Aegis Software acquires Simio

Manufacturing operations software company Aegis Software, based in Horsham, Pa., announced recently it had acquired software company Simio, simulation and scheduling software company.

Aegis said the purchase would allow the two companies to work together to create a software solution that gives manufacturers a view of “what happened, what is happening, and what will happen.”

Aegis said Simio has a reputation as a pioneer in the simulation and Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) space with solutions that help customers with valuable, real-time insights in their mission-critical workflows. The company is part of the curriculum at more than 500 higher education institutions around the world, which Aegis said will ensure that future manufacturing and operations professionals enter the workforce with experience using it.
