Ohio-based Woolpert, an architecture, engineering, and geospatial (AEG) services company, recently purchased Harrisburg-based Dawood Engineering, a infrastructure and geospatial technology firm.

“Throughout our history, we have focused on delivering excellent solutions to our clients, building lasting relationships, and pushing the envelope of our profession,” Dawood CEO Bony Dawood said. “Together with Woolpert, we are ideally suited to support the technological and physical infrastructure needed to advance our clients’ objectives. This next chapter, as part of the world’s leading AEG firm, creates an environment where all of our professionals will thrive.”

The purchase allows Woolpert to further diversify its portfolio in the alternative energy, electric utility, pipeline, and oil and natural gas sectors and accentuate its geospatial capabilities. Dawood also works with the energy, heritage and real estate, transportation, municipal, and utility markets.

Dawood employs more than 150 people and has licensed engineers and geospatial professionals in more than 40 U.S. states who design, plan, survey and construct sustainable environments. The company has worked as lead engineering and surveying consultant on major bridge, highway, and traffic projects for cities, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Woolpert operates from more than 75 offices on five continents.
