U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) helped secure a $25-million federal grant for the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority to revitalize the Bristol Port Terminal.

“This is a major victory for Bucks County and a turning point for our region’s infrastructure future,” Fitzpatrick said Monday.

The Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant, awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation, will fund the construction of a new 1,100-foot dock, modernization of offloading equipment, dredging of approximately 70,000 cubic yards of material, and the integration of upgraded rail infrastructure to significantly expand multimodal capacity, according to the congressman’s staff.

“Revitalizing the Bristol Port will create good-paying jobs, modernize our transportation network, and unlock long-term economic growth — which is exactly why I fought to secure this funding. But this is just one step,” said Fitzpatrick. “I remain fully committed to working with the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority, local leaders, and families — especially in Edgely — on the additional infrastructure projects already in motion to address local vehicular traffic while enhancing local commerce.”

This $25-million investment represents one of the largest federal infrastructure investments in Bucks County, Pa., history and will expand the region’s industrial capacity, improve environmental resiliency, and drive long-term job creation while boosting the efficiency and reliability of the regional freight system, added Fitzpatrick.

Ralph DiGuiseppe, chairman of the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks Board of Directors, praised Fitzpatrick’s leadership and the grant’s impact.

“The revitalization of the Bristol Port Terminal represents a generational investment in our region’s infrastructure, economy, and workforce,” said DiGuiseppe. “This project will strengthen our local and regional supply chain capacity and position the port as a key economic development area for years to come.”
