M&T Bank appoints president of Northern Pennsylvania

M&T Bank recently appointed Carmen Magistro as Northern Pennsylvania regional president. He succeeds Phil Johnson who will retire at the end of the year.

Magistro joined M&T Bank in 2009 and previously served as Northern Pennsylvania Commercial & Industrial commercial senior group manager. In his new role, he will partner with the community bank leadership team for Northern Pennsylvania and will oversee M&T’s commercial banking operations in the region.

Magistro has more than 22 years of experience in the financial services industry including business banking, commercial banking, and government banking.

“A lifelong resident of Northern Pennsylvania with an enduring commitment to its communities, Carmen is well-positioned to guide M&T’s efforts in fostering economic growth and supporting local businesses,” Mike Keegan, M&T Bank senior executive vice president and community banking head, said. “His experience and leadership will be pivotal in driving forward our mission of enabling customers, colleagues, and communities to thrive.”

M&T Bank has 34 branches and more than 45 ATMs in Northern Pennsylvania, serving Pottsville, Scranton, State College, Stroudsburg, Wilkes Barre, Williamsport, and surrounding areas.
