UK-based Harsco Environmental, an environmental services company, recently signed a contract with Turkish-based steel manufacturer İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. (İDÇ).
Under the contract, Harsco will perform furnace digging services on two İDÇ electric arc furnaces.
“We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will bring to our production capabilities,” Hasan Acar, İDÇ executive board member, said. “Harsco Environmental’s expertise and focus on innovative solutions align perfectly with our operational goals as we commission our second electric arc furnace.”
The contract expands Harsco’s growth in Turkey and is the company’s second contract in Turkey’s İzmir region. Harsco is a division of Philadelphia-based Enviri Corp., an environmental services company that offers recycle and reuse solutions for waste streams. Enviri operates in more than 150 locations in more than 30 countries.
“We are thrilled to start a new partnership with İDÇ and support their operations with our innovative solutions,” Stéphane Boissinot, Harsco Environmental regional president of Europe, said. “This contract underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional service and value to our steel industry clients.”
İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi’s products include billets, blooms, construction iron, and ribbed rebar. İDÇ recently commissioned a second electric arc furnace. The contact coincides with their commission.
