Malvern-based Rajant Corp., a broadband communications technology company, recently entered into a three-year cooperative research and development agreement with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) for emerging technologies and capabilities.

Under the terms of the agreement, Rajant will work with the Army on artificial intelligence, distributed computing, encryption, machine learning and mesh communications to protect the technologies’ against current and future cyber threats and electronic warfare.

The agreement also establishes a framework for not only assessing vulnerability and performance but evaluating, modeling and simulating Rajant solutions in relevant U.S. Army applications

“This agreement continues our previous agreement with U.S. Army DEVCOM and is a win-win for both organizations,” Ed Preston, Rajant president of military and government markets, said. “Rajant can gain detailed information on threats the Army faces today with complete freedom of innovation to counter those threats. The Army rapidly gains access to cutting-edge technology and can evaluate it in a real-world environment.”

Rajant has additional offices and facilities in Arizona and Kentucky. Its Kinetic Mesh networks have been deployed successful in more than 80 countries. The networks allow customers to take their private network applications and data anywhere and are designed for harsh physical environments and rugged terrains.
