Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in collaboration with Illinois-based Egen, an IT services and consulting company, and New Jersey-based UltronAI, a software development company, recently announced a strategic partnership to bring innovative artificial intelligence (AI)-based industry solutions to clients in a variety of sectors.

“Egen, UltronAI, and CMU together are a powerhouse of AI excellence — a force multiplier poised to revolutionize industry by delivering groundbreaking, high-impact AI solutions powered by the brightest minds in the field,” said Marios Savvides, CMU Bossa Nova Robotics professor of artificial intelligence, electrical and computer engineering and UltronAI founder, chairman, and chief technology officer.

The partnership will seek to bring solutions to the health, life sciences, media and entertainment, retail, and public sectors.

CMU has the top program in the United States for AI and uses research and development to address complex, real-world challenges and opportunities.

It is an institutional stakeholder in UltronAI. The company has commercialized an AI-based computer vision engine for quick, accurate identification of products, objects, people, and actions. The company has more than 50 patents, and the retail industry uses its technology to reduce shrink and optimize operations.

Egen has a track record of using the latest AI developments to create industry solutions.
