Valley Forge-based Vanguard, an investment management company, recently opened a Advice & Wealth Management division.
“For nearly five decades, Vanguard has been a positive force in democratizing investing, helping to give tens of millions of investors the best chance for investment success,” Salim Ramji, Vanguard CEO, said. “With the addition of Joanna to our leadership team, our goal is to further democratize our advice and wealth management offerings for our clients through enhanced technologies and offers – with the same client zeal that Vanguard has long been known for.”
Joanna Rotenberg will serve as managing director of the new division, effective in January. She previously served as Fidelity Investments president of personal investing where she was responsible for all aspects of the business.
Vanguard also made other changes to its senior leadership team.
John James will serve as head of Workplace & Advisor Solutions. He will be tasked with overseeing Vanguard’s intermediated businesses with a focus on deepening enterprise clients relationships. He previously was the Institutional Investor Group’s managing director.
Lauren Valente will become head of the Institutional Investor Group. She previously was managing director and chief human resources officer.
Jon Couture will replace Valente and also serve as a managing director.
