California-based Sylmar Group, a company making investments in water service and technology businesses, recently completed its purchase of Morgantown-based Eastern Technologies (ETI), an industrial water treatment company.

“Our desire to preserve trusted partnerships with water treaters and to maintain our position as an industry source of expertise are significant factors in our decision to partner with Sylmar,” Robert Keeler, ETI co-founder and board chairman, said. “We look forward to building on this legacy of trusted relationships with an owner that is committed to our customers and employees.”

ETI President Gary Reggiani will continue with the company.

The addition of ETI will support the existing chemistry and technical needs of Sylmar’s existing platforms, EAI Water and General Pump Co. It also will boost Sylmar’s custom blending capabilities.

Sylmar will integrate ETI into its portfolio, solidifying its position as a comprehensive provider in the water industry and expanding the water treatment services and expertise its offers customers. The purchase also aligns with the company’s management of key supply chain risks across its operations.

ETI provides commercial and industrial customers with chemical formulations for boiler water, cooling water, fuel conditioning, potable water, process waters, and wastewater treatments. Founded in 1986, the company focuses on the Northeast.
