The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development recently awarded York County-based Joseph Machine Co., a custom machinery manufacturer, with a $2 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant.
The company will use funding to support a 150,000-square-foot addition to its Dillsburg facility that will double module assembly capacity and allow it to meet increased demand.
“The RACP funding will help us scale even further — allowing us to expand our facility, take on larger automation projects, and add new capabilities that benefit not just Joseph, but the entire Pennsylvania manufacturing ecosystem, advancing our mission to empower U.S.-based manufacturers,” Joseph Machine Co. CEO Anthony Pigliacampo said.
The project is expected to create up to 150 jobs and support dozens of local suppliers throughout Southcentral Pennsylvania.
“This investment will drive [Joseph Machine Co.’s] expansion forward, doubling [its] workforce with the full build-out, leveraging nearly $11 million in private investment, and strengthening our manufacturing industry here in York County,” Kevin Schreiber, York County Economic Alliance president and CEO, said.
Joseph Machine Co. sources 60 percent of its materials from more than 150 Pennsylvania companies. The company employs 119 people and serves the automotive, aerospace, energy, and renewable power industries, and added 39 positions in 2024.
