Acrow, a New Jersey-based international bridge engineering and supply company, recently completed the installation of rooftop-mounted solar panels at its steel manufacturing facility in Milton.
The panels are part of major upgrades being made at the facility. Other upgrades include new machinery, robotics, and tooling.
“Sustainability is a global priority and at Acrow, it is embedded in our culture,” Bill Killeen, Acrow CEO, said. “As industry leaders, we are witnessing a growing number of public and private sector customers seeking the sustainable infrastructure solutions Acrow provides, and we are committed to improving the quality of the environment in support of the businesses and communities we serve to leave a lasting impact for generations to come.”
The project is part of the company’s commitment to reduce energy consumption from standard sources.
The company also installed one of its modular bridges, 60-foot-long, two-lane panel bridge, to demonstrate the versatility and range of the panel bridge components. It uses a standard cantilevered foot walk system, several truss configurations and two types of crash rail systems.
Acrow serves the transportation and construction industries and provides modular steel bridging solutions for permanent, temporary, military and emergency use. It has developed and implemented projects in more than 150 countries.
