Flexopack USA, a wholesale distributor of flexible packaging, plans to build a 107,000-square-foot, rail-served facility in Lebanon County.
The project will be completed in three phases and is expected to create at least 64 full-time jobs and contribute $33 million to the local economy.
The facility will help the company expand its manufacturing footprint into the United States. The company is the primary packaging supplier for Fredericksburg-based Bell & Evans, the oldest branded chicken company in the United States.
“Our new manufacturing facility in Lebanon County aims to strengthen the already significant commercial presence of Flexopack Group in the U.S. market,” Stamatios Gkinosatis, Flexopack S.A CEO, said. “We are thrilled about our decision to proceed with this investment in Lebanon which will also further support — through local manufacturing — the increased packaging material requirements of our close partner Bell and Evans.”
The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal for a $500,000 Pennsylvania First grant. The department also encouraged Flexopack to apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Manufacturing Tax Credit and Rail Freight Assistance programs.
Flexopack USA is a subsidiary of Greek manufacturer Flexopack International Ltd. It specializes in co-extrusion of barrier and non-barrier films that are used primarily by the food industry.
