Global equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc. presented Pittsburgh-based PPG, a coatings, paints and specialty materials manufacturer, with its Caterpillar Supplier Excellence Award 2024.
The award, which was presented at Caterpillar’s Supplier Excellence Recognition event in Grapevine, Texas, on Sept. 19, honors top-performing suppliers that met or exceeded Caterpillar’s requirements and achieved world-class certification levels from May 2023 through June 2024 under its Supplier Excellence programming.
“This is our first time receiving a Supplier Excellence Award, which demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the customer,” said Kevin Wozniak, PPG global accounts director, Industrial Coatings. “Caterpillar relies on PPG to provide innovative, high-quality products that exceed their standards. PPG is proud of its partnership with Caterpillar, which enables the company to supply products and services to a variety of customers all over the world.”
Caterpillar extended invitations to the event to its top 4 percent of suppliers globally.
“Caterpillar’s ability to manufacture is dependent on the strength, efficiency and effectiveness of the entire supply network, end-to-end,” Pam Heminger, Caterpillar senior vice president for the Strategic Procurement and Planning Division, said at the award ceremony. “Our customers build a better, more sustainable world when our strong supply network helps ensure we provide our customers the products they need at the right time, the right place and at the right cost.”
PPG operates in more than 70 countries and serves customers in construction, consumer products, industrial, and transportation markets and aftermarkets. In 2023, it reported $18.2 billion in net sales.
