Pittsburgh-based PPG and the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), one of the world’s largest environmental education networks, recently entered into a two-year partnership.
Under the terms of the partnership, PPG will provide FEE with a $150,000 community engagement grant to help expand the organization’s climate change education programs. FEE will use the grant to create and release educational materials in multiple languages.
Educational materials include online courses, instructional videos, training materials for teachers, and a comprehensive “Eco-Schools” handbook. Languages include English, Chinese, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
“We are proud to partner with FEE to empower the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle climate change,” Peter Votruba-Drzal, PPG vice president of Global Sustainability, said. “Through this collaboration, we aim to support the development and dissemination of high-quality educational resources that will reach students across the globe, inspiring them to become the environmental stewards of tomorrow.”
The partnership is part of PPG’s commitment to invest $5 million globally by 2030 in environmental sustainability education.
The Foundation for Environmental Education is a nongovernmental, nonprofit group with more than 100 member organizations in 81 countries, and is a coordinator of UNESCO’s Greening Education Partnership. FEE was founded in 1981 and is based in Copenhagen.
