The U.S. Army recently finalized a contract modification worth more than $440 million with UK-based BAE Systems, a defense and space manufacturing company, to produce additional Bradley Fighting Vehicles.
Production and support efforts will take place in York, Pa., as well as BAE Systems’ robust industrial network in Alabama, California, Michigan, Minnesota, and South Carolina.
The contract modification is for the production of more than 200 Bradley A4 variants. The vehicles will replace a portion of the Bradleys the U.S. government provided to Ukraine.
“The Bradley Fighting Vehicle brings game-changing capabilities to the Army and our allied nations,” Dan Furber, BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems business director of ground vehicle production, said. “Because of the support for additional production of the modern Bradley A4 variant, this enduring capability continues to make a difference for troops all over the world, ensuring they have the firepower, mobility and survivability they need to achieve their missions.”
Furber calls the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle dominate in battlefields and prepared for the future.
The Bradley A4 features the ability to survive all terrains and temperatures, digitized electronics for optimum situational awareness, improved soldier safety, and network connectivity and communication within the Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Team formation.
