Canonsburg-based CONSOL Energy, a producer and exporter of high-Btu bituminous thermal coal and metallurgical coal, recently released its 2023 Corporate Sustainability Report, “Here Today AND Tomorrow.”

Last year “was an outstanding year for the CONSOL Energy team, on multiple fronts,” Jimmy Brock, CONSOL Energy CEO, said. “From record financial performance to achievement of our revenue diversification goal, we continue to demonstrate the flexibility of our operations and product, as well as our ability to consistently create value. This level of performance also catalyzes execution of our strategic priorities, including continued investment in our sustainability, technology, and innovation initiatives throughout the year.”

The report focuses on the company’s ongoing sustainability and operational initiatives on innovating for the energy economy.

According to the report, the company achieved its goal of deriving more than 50 percent of its revenue from non-power generation sales.

At the CONSOL Marine Terminal, the company surpassed 1,000,000 safe working hours.

The company achieved a total recordable incident rate that was 33 percent better than industry averages.

For the 11th consecutive year, the company maintained an environmental compliance rate exceeding 99.9 percent.

CONSOL Energy’s flagship operation is the Pennsylvania Mining Complex, three large-scale underground mines with the capacity to produce approximately 28.5 million tons of coal annually.
