Morgan Truck Body purchases Canadian company

Morgantown-based Morgan Truck Body, a designer, builder, and seller of truck bodies, recently purchased Transit Truck Bodies, a well-established manufacturer of truck bodies in Laval, Quebec, Canada.

The purchase brings the number of Morgan Truck Body manufacturing facilities in North America to 14 and gives the company greater North American coverage.

Transit Truck Bodies’ product line includes cutaway, dry freight, refrigerated, and tailor-made solutions. Customers include dealers, leasing companies and organizations that order custom-build products. The company has built more than 72,000 manufactured truck bodies, and has an engineering and design team, large inventory and a variety of accessories available at its manufacturing plant.

“We are excited to welcome Transit team members and customers to Morgan Truck Body. Transit’s expertise and leadership in truck body manufacturing and customer service in Canada strengthen our commitment to customers in North America to provide truck body innovations both now and in the future,” Corby Stover, Morgan Truck Body president, said.

Morgan Truck Body is the largest manufacturer of light- and medium-duty truck bodies in North America. It employs more than 2,700 people in the United States and Canada. The company is a subsidiary of J.B. Poindexter & Co., Inc., an automotive and manufacturing goods and services provider.
