The Pittsburgh Department of Innovation and Performance recently selected four startups for PGH Lab Cohort 9.0.
Aimilight Sensors and Intelligent Systems will test pilot the installation of proprietary sensor fiber technology to interconnect existing city network locations at a lower cost.
Qarar will test pilot technology that provides a comparison report of full lifecycle costs to the city.
Velo AI will pilot 20 proprietary digital sensors to improve the safety of bike transits for city staff. It also will provide transit map data.
Noteful will pilot music education services with residents at five of the city’s parks and recreation centers and with city staff.
“The City of Pittsburgh continues to invest in and nurture our local entrepreneurs and ecosystem,” Heidi Norman, Innovation and Performance director, said. “We have learned so much over the past eight years and are innovating by evolving PGH Lab to a “customer first” model which will better support our participating start-up companies on their journey toward success.”
PGH Lab is a six-month partnership program that connects local startups with local government, providing the opportunity for businesses to gain feedback, pilot products and services, and network with experts and municipal leaders.
Companies will be compensated for their participation.
