Pittsburgh-based Koppers, a provider of treated wood products, wood treatment chemicals, and carbon compounds, recently announced a transition plan for its leadership roles.
The plan encompasses all of 2024.
Effective July 1, Jason Bakk, the current vice president of North American Carbon Materials and Chemicals (CMC), will become the vice president of Utility and Industrial Products (UIP). In his new role, he will be responsible for delivering on the company’s aggressive growth plans by further growing market share, optimizing production capabilities, strengthening customer relationships, and promoting safety and sustainability.
Also effective July 1, Brett Johnston, the current commercial director of North American CMC, will become vice president of North American CMC. In his new role, Johnston will be responsible for financial performance, logistics, commercial, production, and all others activities in North American CMC, and evaluating ways to further streamline North American CMC by strengthening the supply chain and reducing costs.
James Healey, vice president of UIP, will retire on Dec. 31. After July 1, he will serve as special assistant to the president and COO and remain active in the UIP leadership transition. Healey has worked for the company for 40 years.
