PPG names Sam Millikin as vice president of aerospace coatings

Pittsburgh-based PPG recently announced Sam Millikin will become vice president of aerospace coatings, effective Jan. 1.

Daniel G. Korte, the current senior vice president of aerospace coatings, is retiring during the second quarter 2024.

“Sam’s proven leadership and experience in the aerospace industry will be invaluable in this important role at PPG,” Tim Knavish, PPG chairman and CEO, said. “We thank Dan for his many contributions. His leadership and commitment to continuous improvement has strengthened the aerospace business and allowed PPG to provide customers with many new solutions. We thank Dan for his tremendous service and congratulate Sam on this key leadership position.”

Millikin joined PPG in 1989 and has held a number of positions in account management, sales and marketing within the specialty coatings and materials business. He joined the aerospace sealants and packaging business in 2013 as a global platform business manager. He has also served as global platform director and as global platform director, his current role.

Millikin will lead this global strategic business in this role.

Korte joined PPG in 2018. He also worked for LMI Aerospace and Boeing.

In 2022, PPG reported net sales of $17.7 billion and operated in more than 70 countries.
