Lehigh Valley-based Air Products, an industrial gas company, recently signed a contract to provide the PETRONAS LNG Complex in Malaysia with its advanced main cryogenic heat exchanger (MCHE) technology.

Air Products will supply MCHE engineering and design, two units of two-bundle MCHEs, continued use of the company’s proprietary AP-C3MRTM LNG process technology with associated process licenses, and technical advisory services.

Engineering and design work will be conducted in Allentown while the MCHEs will be manufactured in Florida.

In June 2022, PETRONAS installed a MCHE replacement. The contract will provide the second and third replacements. They are part of an extension program to extend the life of the facility and continue its performance and high reliability.

“We are very pleased to again supply PETRONAS with Air Products’ designed and manufactured LNG heat exchangers,” Dr. Samir J. Serhan, Air Products COO, said. “Air Products is honored that our equipment’s reliability, performance, and longevity have led our valued customer to remain with our leading technology yet again. In doing so, we will continue to provide excellent customer service with advanced heat exchanger designs to deliver superior operational performance and reliability for decades to come.”

Air Products had sales of $12.7 billion during fiscal 2022.
