Lancaster, Pa.-based Armstrong World Industries, Inc., said it is making progress on its sustainability goals in its third sustainability report released Thursday.
According to the report, the company has reduced its carbon footprint by 13 percent, increased its use of renewable electricity to 13 percent, and continued its progress toward a zero-injury safety goal. The results are part of its three pillars of sustainability, the company said, namely – Healthy and Circular Products, Healthy Planet, and Thriving People and Communities.
“At Armstrong, we remain committed to driving positive change in everything we do,” AWI President and CEO Vic Grizzle said. “Our sustainability efforts are a testament to our company’s values, and we are proud of our progress over the last year.”
The report, “Building a Healthy Tomorrow,” highlighted some of the company’s initiatives and achievements over the year, including supporting building efficiency through the development of an energy-saving ceiling system that combines the company’s DynaMax grid for data centers with its Ultima Airassure gasketed ceiling. The company also said it had increased the number of community organizations supported by its employee giving match program by over 100 percent of 2021 levels.
Armstrong is a leader in the design and manufacture of innovative ceiling and wall system solutions and recorded #1.2 billion in revenue in 2022. The company has an estimated 3,000 employees in 16 facilities across the country.
