Hazleton-based EAM-Mosca Corp., an automatic strapping systems provider, plans to invest $20.6 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Luzerne County.
The company will expand from 165,000 square feet to 283,000 square feet and will purchase machinery and equipment.
The project is expected to create at least 50 jobs within the next three years.
“These jobs come from a true understanding of our clients’ needs and our engineering efforts on the mechanical and electrical side to produce a highly automated solution that meets an unmet need no one else has been able to satisfy, and that’s what’s made us successful in Pennsylvania and across the world,” Christian Wiethuechter, EAM-Mosca president and CEO, said.
The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal for a $250,000 Pennsylvania First grant and encouraged EAM-Mosca to apply for the Manufacturing Tax Credit Program.
Founded in 1982, EAM-Mosca manufactures and distributes automatic strapping systems used in commercial packaging and customized end-of-line packaging solutions. It employs more than 320 people in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, and has installed more than 25,000 systems at customer locations throughout the Americas.
The Governor’s Action Team, a group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor, coordinated the project.
