Qatargas recently selected Allentown-based Air Products, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology and equipment provider, to supply technology and equipment to the North Field South (NFS) Project in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

“Once again, we are very pleased to have our LNG technology selected for the newest liquefaction expansion project in Qatar’s North Field,” Dr. Samir J. Serhan, Air Products’ COO, said. “Air Products’ proven AP-X process technology enables significantly higher LNG production while having flexible operation over a wide range of production capacities. The unrivaled performance, reliability, and efficiency of our equipment, coupled with responsive technical service and support, enable customers to optimize a facility’s overall performance with safe and sustainable solutions.”

Under the agreement, Air Products will supply Qatargas with its AP-X natural gas liquefaction process technology and equipment, along with associated technical services. Air Products will supply two new LNG process trains with a production capacity of 8 million tons annually.

Air Products will perform engineering and design at its corporate headquarters, while manufacturing will occur at the company’s LNG equipment manufacturing facility in Florida.

The company supplied vital equipment and technology for Qatar’s existing LNG trains in Ras Laffan.

Air Products operates in more than 50 countries.
