John Deere recently awarded Lyon Station-based East Penn with the 2023 Supplier Sustainability Award.

The award recognizes suppliers that demonstrate business practices promoting sustainability and reduce environmental impact.

John Deere presented the award to two suppliers. It recognized East Penn for its state-of-the-art closed-loop manufacturing processes and environmental stewardship. It is East Penn’s first time receiving the award.

“As a company, we’ve been on our sustainability journey for quite a long time, and are grateful to provide products that have such a high rate of recyclability,” Pete Stanislawczyk, East Penn executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said. “Having a prestigious organization like John Deere recognize us for our accomplishments is humbling and a very distinct honor. We will continue on in our commitments to environmental stewardship and top levels of customer service.

In addition to the award, John Deere named East Penn a partner-level supplier, John Deere’s highest supplier rating. East Penn also received this recognition in 2021.

East Penn is a manufacturer of high-quality lead batteries and accessories for the automotive, commercial, marine, motive power, UPS, and telecommunication markets.

Quality and environmental systems on East Penn’s entire 520-acre complex have been certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO/TS 16949:2016, and ISO 14001:2015 requirements.
