Allentown-based Air Products, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology and equipment company, recently signed an agreement to provide Bechtel Energy with proprietary LNG process technology, equipment, and advisory services for Sempra Infrastructure’s Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project in Jefferson County, Texas.

The project will include two natural gas liquefaction trains, two liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks, and associated facilities with a nameplate capacity of approximately 13 million tons annually.

Under the agreement, Air Products will engineer, design and manufacture heat exchanger equipment for the liquefaction sections of the trains. They will also provide engineering studies and technical advisory services for the installation and startup of the trains.

“Our proven large-scale heat exchangers and unrivaled process technology are at the heart of the majority of LNG export facilities around the world, both on and offshore,” Dr. Samir J. Serhan, Air Products COO, said. “With the global demand for LNG increasing in the coming decades, our LNG equipment manufacturing facility located in Port Manatee is equipped to meet this demand, and the 2019 expansion of our production facilities there demonstrated Air Products’ long-term commitment to this important market.”

The Port Manatee facility in Florida will manufacture two main cryogenic heat exchangers for Air Products’ AP-C3MRTM LNG process technology.
