Cabinetworks, the largest independently-owned manufacturer and distributor of kitchen and bath cabinetry in the United States, will be investing $23 million to expand its Mount Union manufacturing facility.
“This facility is a huge transitional effort for us, supporting the growth of Cabinetworks Group, and we’re going to do some very exciting things here in Mount Union,” Chad Miller, Cabinetworks Group vice president at manufacturing, said. “It’s all about the support we’ve gotten at every level of government and at every level of community. I couldn’t be happier with where we are eight months into the project, and days like today make us very confident that for the few next years, we’re really going to grow and succeed.”
The investment is expected to create 327 jobs.
The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) submitted a funding proposal for a Pennsylvania First grant and workforce development grants.
Gov. Josh Shapiro and Acting DCED Secretary Rick Siger toured the facility on Thursday to discuss the governor’s proposed $12 million increase for the Pennsylvania First Program.
Shapiro’s budget proposal also includes a 50 percent increase in the Manufacturing PA Innovation Program, which connects universities with businesses to spur innovation and job creation.
