California-based Nissin Foods USA, a ramen noodles company, recently completed a multi-million investment at its Lancaster manufacturing facility.
“Since opening our Lancaster facility 45 years ago, the plant continues to serve as the engine that drives the majority of the business’ production success, which is a testament to our skilled workforce,” Nissin Foods USA President and CEO Micahel Price said. “We continue to see an increase in consumer consumption of our products and brands due to their convenience, taste, and value. As the category experiences unprecedented growth, we made the necessary decision to invest millions in new equipment, infrastructure, and personnel to meet demand.”
The investments will allow the company to increase output for its premium products by 15 percent. Nearly 60 percent of production comes from the Lancaster facility built in 1978.
From 2021 to 2022, the company expanded its workforce by 15 percent. It currently employs more than 550 people, including full-time and temporary employees, at Lancaster and Lime Spring, Iowa.
Nissin Foods USA produces Asian-inspired meals sold under the Top Ramen, Cup Noodles, Cup Noodles Stir Fry Rice With Noodles, Chow Mein, and Hot & Spicy brands.
Nissin Foods was established in Japan in 1958.
