Lehigh Valley Health Network selects technology platform

Allentown-based Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) recently selected Alabama-based IllumiCare’s Smart Ribbon platform to reduce costs.

The platform combines actionable clinical and financial intelligence and offers multiple inpatient and ambulatory solutions. It shows real-time costs, offers clinically viable alternatives, and reveals clinical variations.

Features that will soon be deployed include increased patient recruitment for clinical trials, cost avoidance, better length of stay to get patients home faster, and boosting closure rates for care gaps and risk capture.

“IllumiCare draws on the concepts of sophisticated analytics, automation, and decision support to allow real-time, point-of-care insight that allows our physicians and providers to make better decisions,” Dr. Maulik Purohit, LVHN chief health information officer, said. “It’s similar to having a GPS while caring for patients. The Lehigh Valley Health Network includes 13 hospital campuses, 20 ExpressCARE locations, and 28 health centers.
