Jeff Ventura, CEO of Texas-based Range Resources Corp., a natural gas and natural gas liquids producer with operations in the Appalachian Basin, recently announced his retirement that will be effective June 2.
He will also not seek reelection to the board of directors.
Ventura joined the company in 2003 as chief operating officer and became CEO in 2012. During his tenure with the company, natural gas was discovered and developed in the Marcellus Shale in Appalachia.
The board has selected Dennis Degner, Range executive vice president and chief operating officer, as the next president and CEO. Degner also served as division vice president of Range’s Appalachia Division. His new role will become effective at the company’s annual shareholder meeting on May 10, and Degner will be nominated for election to the board.
“Dennis’ leadership and technical skills have enhanced Range’s operational strategy, performance, and company culture,” Ventura said. “He has played a key role in Range’s growth and success over the past decade and is the right leader at the right time for Range. I am very proud of what we have accomplished together, specifically in Pennsylvania, where we pioneered the Marcellus shale and matured Range into a top-ten producer of natural gas and natural gas liquids in the country.”
