The Pennsylvania Veterans’ Trust Fund (VTF) is accepting grant applications for programs and services benefiting veterans.
Grants will be considered for veteran service organizations with 501(c)(19) status and nonprofit organizations serving Pennsylvania veterans granted 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Code and for new, innovative, or expanded programs or services operated by the Pennsylvania Association of County Directors of Veterans Affairs or county directors of veterans affairs.
For 501(c)(19) organizations, funding priorities are behavioral health initiatives, employment and education, homelessness, and transportation services. For innovative or expanded programs or services, funding priorities are homelessness, transportation services, and veterans outreach.
The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs DMVA is authorized to solicit and accept donations to the VTF.
The VTF is funded by private donations, motorists who purchase the Honoring our Women Veterans standard license plate or the Honoring Our Veterans standard and motorcycle license plate, and motorists who voluntarily donate when applying for or renewing driver’s licenses, photo IDs or motor vehicle registrations.
The application deadline is Jan. 19.
A total of 254 grants worth $6.6 million have been awarded to organizations providing services to veterans in Pennsylvania and making veterans aware of what services are available since VTF was founded in 2013.
