Camp Hill-based Harsco Corp.’s Harsco Environmental division recently extended its contract with Chilean steelmaker Compañía Siderúrgica Huachipato (CSH).

The five-year renewal contract will result in $28 million in estimated revenue.

Under the updated contract, the scope of work will remain the same as the previous contract and covers metallic recovery, melt shop cleaning, oxy cutting, scrap chute loading, scrap handling, scrap shearing, slag sales services, and wrecking.

“Harsco Environmental is pleased to continue to provide services to CSH, a key steel producer and one of our valued customers in Chile,” Harsco Environmental Vice President and COO Russ Mitchell said. “This contract renewal demonstrates the strength of our long-standing relationship with CSH.”

Harsco Corp. provides environmental solutions for industrial and specialty waste streams and innovative technologies for the rail sector. Its Environmental division provides onsite material processing and environmental services to the global metals industry.

Harsco Environmental has serviced CSH at its Talcahuano steel mill for more than 40 years. Annually, the mill produces 850 thousand tons of long steel products.

Compañía Siderúrgica Huachipato is the largest steelmaking complex in Chile and the country’s only integrated steelmaking company. It supplies the metal mechanic, mining, and construction industries with long steel products.
