Brookville-based Miller Fabrication Solutions, a contract steel fabricator, recently announced its plans for Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) on Oct. 7.
The annual nationwide event aims to inspire youth to pursue careers in manufacturing. To celebrate, Miller will host free tours for educators, students, customers, vendors, and community members at its two facilities in Brookville and its Homer City facility.
Tours will run every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Participants will see computer numerical control machinery, robotics, and other equipment, learn how high-quality parts are fabricated, and learn about lean processes and safe behaviors.
“Participating in MFG Day is deeply important to Miller Fabrication Solutions,” Eric Miller, president of Miller Fabrication Solutions, said. “Deloitte’s 2022 Manufacturing Outlook shows an anticipated shortfall of 2.1 million skilled manufacturing jobs by 2030. Unfilled jobs could limit the industry’s productivity and growth. By taking part in events like MFG Day, Miller is working to build the foundation for the regional manufacturing workforce of the future.”
In addition, Miller will hold a job fair at each location to highlight available career, apprenticeship and training opportunities.
The National Association of Manufacturers and The Manufacturing Institute sponsor Manufacturing Day.
