Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced Tuesday that his administration had approved nine projects through the Commonwealth Financing Authority totaling more than $48 million to stimulate economic development across the state.

The Business in Our Sites (BOS) projects will receive $48,710,441 in grants and loans to build out an inventory of business-ready sites and increase the state’s ability to attract businesses that create family-sustaining jobs, the governor’s office said.

“Pennsylvania’s strong competitive advantage is reinforced by the funding approved today,” Wolf said. “Between our prime location, our skilled workforce, and our excellent infrastructure, the commonwealth has a lot to offer current and potential businesses. This BOS funding is a great tool that provides the resources needed to build pad-ready sites to increase Pennsylvania’s ability to attract and retain businesses.”

Funded projects include a $2 million grant and a $3 million loan for the Adams County Industrial Development Corporation for the development of the Berlin Junction Manufacturing Center in Oxford Township; a $1.2 million grant and a $1.8 million loan for the Allegheny County Airport Authority for the Pittsburgh Airport Innovation Campus; and a $3,646,266 grant and a $5,469,401 loan for the City of Coatesville for the development of the National Sports & Events Center in that city.

The projects were approved at the July 19 CFA board meeting. More information and a complete list of projects is available on the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development website.
