Penn State Brandywine and SAP, a global software company, have created a partnership to support SAP’s efforts to foster cybersecurity professionals.
SAP will fund Penn State Brandywine’s undergraduate research and provide students with professional internship opportunities. Penn State Brandywine has hosted an SAP-designated Next-Gen Lab since 2018.
The lab allows students to connect with companies for experience and recruitment. This summer’s undergraduate research projects at the SAP lab focus on industry and SAP-specific security challenges.
“This partnership with SAP is enabling our students to further their cybersecurity skill sets and network directly with industry professionals,” Andy Landmesser, assistant teaching professor of information sciences and technology, said. “Often, students can’t afford to take advantage of opportunities to build their professional networks and conduct research. SAP resources are helping level the playing field so all Brandywine cybersecurity students can receive various experiential learning opportunities.”
SAP will be the naming sponsor for a regional one-day cybersecurity conference hosted by Penn State Brandywine scheduled for Sept. 9. Planned topics for the conference include business and ethics, security operations center improvement, and cyber/defense innovation.
Penn State Brandywine and SAP will create the curriculum for SAP University and Academic Alliance conferences, workshops, and boot camp opportunities.
