Almac Group, a Northern Ireland-based contract pharmaceutical development and manufacturing organization, recently announced it will expand its North American headquarters located in Montgomery County.

The approximately $93.5 million expansion will add 100,000 square feet to its existing 246,000-square-foot facility in Souderton and create 355 jobs within the next three years. The company also will upgrade its Audubon and Lansdale facilities.

The expansion will help the company meet increased customer demand.

Almac Group opened the Souderton site in 2011 but has been operating in Pennsylvania for more than 20 years.

“We are delighted to mark this next milestone of our future in Montgomery County,” Alan Armstrong, Almac Group chairman and chief executive, said. “We look forward to welcoming over 350 new employees, who will be an essential part of our continued success over the next three years. Almac Group’s mission is to advance human health and we are committed to re-investing all of our profits back into the business to ensure we are market leading for our clients and patients and offer the best possible work environment for our people.”

The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal for a $250,000 workforce development grant and a $1.775 million Pennsylvania First grant.
