PPG completes divestiture of Eberle Design

PPG completed the divestiture of Eberle Design to Vance Street Capital on June 14 for an undisclosed amount.

Eberle Design manufactures electronic control system components used for parking and access, rail, and emergency vehicle applications, and managing traffic safety, and detecting vehicles at intersections.

PPG purchased the company in December 2020 along with the Ennis-Flint business, the core of PPG’s Traffic Solutions business unit.

Based in Phoenix, Eberle Design employs approximately 150 employees. It will be incorporated into Vance Street’s Intelligent Transportation Systems platform.

Also, earlier this month, PPG introduced its ENVIROCRON LUM coating, the first commercial retroreflective powder coating.

The coating is designed for visibility in low-light conditions and at night and can be used for safety equipment, fences, guardrails, tools, bicycles, scooters, shopping carts, and other applications.

“Whether in on-road or off-road settings with limited light, visibility is essential for safety and productivity,” Paul Bradley, PPG technical manager of Industrial Coatings, said. “PPG has been at the forefront of retroreflective powder coating technology for several years. Our talented research and development team and our commitment to innovation made it possible to bring PPG Envirocron LUM coating to life and achieve a major advancement in powder technology.”
