The Pennsylvania’s Manufacturing PA Training-to-Career Program (MTTC) recently awarded the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) a $199,840 grant.

Funds will support the E3 (Exit, Enter, Employ) Re-Entry Program, a job training program that will help individuals exiting the justice system find jobs in the manufacturing industry. Funding will be used for administrative support, salary, consultant/professional services, stipends, and consumables.

The program will run four cohorts of 12 participants. CCIU will seek referrals from community organizations and the county justice system.

Participants will receive training in social skills, positive self-change, problem-solving, and job readiness training.

Job training will focus on four areas: blueprint reading; shop math; measurements and equipment; and soft skills. Participants also will receive an Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10 Certification and Flagger certification.

“The E3 Re-Entry grant allows us the opportunity to make a positive future impact for a population that is often overlooked,” Dr. George F. Fiore, Chester County Intermediate Unit executive director, said. “We are so grateful to be awarded this grant that will help these individuals with employability skills such as cognitive behavior therapy, professional skills training, and access to a career fair at the conclusion of the program.”
