Eco Material Technologies, a producer of sustainable cement alternatives, recently held a ceremony at its Danville plant to recognize its employees and the local and national benefits of their efforts.

The event also celebrated the removal of 150,000 tons of landfilled ash from the plant to be used in concrete that has repaved thousands of miles of roads statewide.

U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA), state Sen. John Gordner (R-Montour County), state Rep. Kurt Masser (R-Montour County), along with business leaders and representatives from U.S. Sens. Bob Casey (D-PA) and Pat Toomey (R-PA)’s offices were in attendance.

“My district is made up of many communities that benefit from the great work Eco Material is doing in Danville,” Meuser said. “Eco Material’s innovative process of transforming the waste material, called fly ash, from coal-fired power plants into a near-zero carbon cement product is a smart and environmentally-friendly way to build America’s infrastructure. Eco Material provides a free-market alternative to other cement products that have been used to repave roads utilized by Pennsylvanians throughout the commonwealth.”

Eco Material Technologies operates more than 100 locations in 45 states. It holds an approximately 50 percent volume share in the United States.
